I am in my final year of completing a B.Sc. Honours in Psychology with a concentration in Cognition and a minor in Neuroscience and Mental Health at Carleton University!
In the CLaSSI Lab, I am currently working on a project examining visual mental imagery in language processing and whether visual interference affects judgments of word imageability. I am also completing my Honours Thesis with Dr. Natalia Jaworska in the Clinical EEG & Neuroimaging Research Lab at the Institute of Mental Health Research (IMHR). My thesis examines the use of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) as a treatment for reducing auditory hallucinations in individuals with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder. I have as well examined embodied cognition during second-language processing using eye-tracking in the L-NEURO Lab.
My research interests include visual mental imagery, its neural correlates, imagery vividness, perception, reality monitoring, psychotic symptoms, and hallucinations, particularly through the use of physiological measures of brain activity. I am further interested in exploring whether there are links between imagery ability, psychiatric disorders, and blindness. I plan to pursue a career in clinical neuropsychology while continuing to contribute to research in these areas!
Outside of academia, I enjoy spending my time in nature with animals and bugs (snorkeling with sunfish is phenomenal!!), attending rock concerts, thinking about aliens, playing musical instruments, and doing anything creative and crafty!
