Laura (she/her) completed her undergraduate studies at Carleton University in psychology with a concentration in cognition. Her undergraduate thesis focused on the role of iconicity on the acquisition of ambiguous words (homographs) during first language (L1) acquisition. She is broadly interested in cognition and psycholinguistics, but more specifically focused on the way in which iconicity interacts with language acquisition and processing.

In her spare time, Laura enjoys PC gaming, Netflix, reading (some of many, many favourite authors include Margaret Atwood, Ernest Hemingway, Joy Kogawa, Sid Marty, and Virginia Woolf), hiking, camping, social style Latin and ballroom dance, skydiving, and spending time with her parakeet sidekick, Tango.
